Bad End AU: Different.
This takes place when Anima was 15 and Toxic was 17. In the current time they are 17 and 19.

Toxic was strolling through the Everfree Forest, even if it was a mostly dangerous place he considered it one of his favourite places. He was lost in this thoughts when he heard the rustle of some bushes, he thought it must have been one of the creatures of the forest, until he heard an “Ow!” “Um, hi? is someone there? are you okay?” a figure came out from behind one of them, it was a girl that was brushing off some leaves from her coat “Oh yeah, just a minor inconvenience sir…YOUR SHADOW!” she gasped, Toxic turned around confused “Huh?! what about it?” “It’s so different! I have never encountered one like that! what are you?” she said smiling “Uh, woah, hold on, what do you mean?” “Well…i’m blind, i can’t see anything that isn’t a shadow at least, and i have never encountered something like your shadow in my life!” Anima explained excitedly, while circling around Toxic “Oh, in that case,i’m a changeling, well half changeling” “Woah!! My mother used to tell me stories about them! Do you really feed on love?” “I don’t, my mom does tho” Anima looked very excited, it was her first time out alone and she encountered a changeling! What a pity that she couldn’t tell her family about it, if they knew about it, her mom would never let her go alone again, and her father and brother wouldn’t even let her out of the castle.

“Hm…excuse mr. Changeling?” “My name is Toxic, and yeah? What is it?” “W-would it be okay if i felt your face? i really don’t know when i will meet another changeling, so i would like to know how they really are” Toxic blushed “G-go ahead, i really don’t mind” Anima put one of her hooves gently in his face, “It feels so different…” “Is that a bad thing?” “Of course not! It’s fascinating!” Toxic’s face blushed, he had been called ‘handsome’,‘beautiful’ even ‘graceful’ but never fascinating…this girl had such a dreamy way of describing things “B-by the way, shouldn’t you have at least a companion?The forest is a kind of dangerous place” Anima put away her hoove “Well, i thought the light of my horn would be enough for me to move around and feel the shadows, but it seems that i might need more than that to navigate the forest…i must go for now” “Alone? are you sure?” Anima smiled “Don’t worry, i know the way back, i really hope that we meet again, you seem nice”

As she was leaving, she heard Toxic again “If i see you again, i could show you the forest if you’d like!” “That would be wonderful” and she disappeared into the dark woods.
