Not author, but I think those words were meant for misty to show some self-respect.
Opaline has been abusing her, previous comics had the alicorn belittle her and dismissing her drawings and signs of affection dismissed as useless, therefore calling Misty that too.
The last panels could be interpreted as Misty no longer wanting to applease Opaline after realising how she was not worth it anymore.
I drew it a long time ago, so I don’t really remember it, but it’s a scene where she says her self is a useful
