An over-the-top, sinister, reality-defying father, plus a soft-hearted, angelic, animal-loving mother… This makes a surprising amount of sense, and I love it.
Then again, I wonder if this fits with that one time Gundham mentioned his mother, talking about how her cooking was physically painful.
…Actually, that could work. New headcanon: Fluttershy is a terrible cook! She’s been serving raw food to animals for so long (including literal actual rabbit food) that she forgets how human palates work. Meanwhile, Discord enjoys bizarre flavors, so he never complained (he probably encouraged her!), and she never developed her own palate because that’d require her to be picky with what she eats, and she’s way too kind to refuse to eat what anyone else serves her.
…oh, Gundham – your parents are the best, but they’re also sorta the worst.
