Sooooo with the gen 5 MLP comic that just dropped everyone is comparing Discord’s new design to an animated Don Bluth villain. A lot of people seem to think his long hair is goofy but honestly I dig it. Initially I was going to go with his new look and draw him with him and Sunny but tbh I just can’t bring myself to care about gen 5 all that much aauughhh :/ and Make Your Mark made me dislike it even more it was baaadddd you guys. Who’s idea was it to give earth ponies magic. Who’s. I need to know. Ok sorry this isn’t even a gen 5 post I’m just rambling at this point. I literally just drew this to say I wish Twilight and Discord had as many episodes as Rarity and her stupid boutiques ok thanks bye

The contrast between the S02 premier and the S04 finale was incredible and my favorite bit of character development in the show. Him also fucking with her in the S07 premier was kind of entertaining, as well as in S09. The idea of Discord playing cheerleader for Twilight through mind-fuckery is something I love. It’s like how a psychopath might try to help someone else, the Q-Picard influence is very strong. Q got 17 members of Picard’s crew killed once just to give him a lesson, the main caveat is that Discord is supposed to be less evil than Q at the very least. I see what they tried to do and I enjoy the idea on paper, only wish the execution had been better.
It powered a 2 finales and 2 premieres truly a underrated dynamic
