From the moment Sassy Saddles popped out Pearly on behalf of Zephyr Breeze and Blueblood, she was determined not to screw up being a mother. This kid was going to be a star, have the best life, wear the best clothes. Nothing like how she had to hide Akua… No, everyone would see clear as day that this was her kid, and she was proud to have it!

Sassy had fun storming up new outfits to throw little baby Pearly in. Of course, these would be sold en masse to the public with her little baby on the cover of every parenting magazine. As Pearly grew, his stardom continued. It wasn’t really enough just to have pictures. Sassy wanted him on billboards, toys, songs, movies… He managed to get his own radio show, where people would call in and ask little 6 year old him questions and he would answer with his innocent view of the world, bringing joy to all in Equestria. Stamps on mail, cookies made in his image–the clothes he used to sell on his mother’s behalf now had his face on it. All of this by the age of 14, and yet still so much stardom to go.

Now grown up, Pearly White brags about always being famous and how getting a boy band was inevitable at his level of stardom. However, growing up famous has made him see other ponies as potential income or immediate threats, nothing more. Every move he makes has to be a calculated business decision, every word he says a sales pitch. He knows the other elites of Canterlot have been praying for his downfall since the moment he was born, and that the fortune he’s acquired from merely existing is enough to make a diamond jealous. Because of this, he can’t let his smile slip for even a moment. He’s trained too hard for too long to keep it in place.

Luckily, it’s easy for him to lie. It’s easy for him to pretend to care. It’s easy to push everything down and bear the weight of a million brands and singing and dancing to entertain Equestria. He was born for this, after all. So he won’t break. He can’t.
