I don’t think it was stated what Tiara’s species was, (I can’t recall) but she, and Blame look nothing alike to me personally, but that’s an interesting thought with those other similarities.
Some fans speculate Tiara was possibly an “expy” of Princess Sally. (A popular character from the old Sonic cartoon & current comics.)

Also, Nack the Weasel (AKA Fang the Sniper) one of my favorite Sonic characters (who was only featured in a few games) was actually going to be in “Sonic X-Treme” to as a boss.

Another thing that was carried over from the work on Sonic X-Treme was Blaze the Cat, when you think about it. The character of ‘Tiara Boobowski’, who was feline, was meant to be a princess in one version, who had power over the elements and sported a magic sceptre to do so, and her story was tied to the rings which allowed travel to different worlds (like the Special Stages).

Pretty much all of that carried over into Blaze:
-Feline
-Princess
-Elemental powers
-Magical sceptre (Sonic Rush Adventure, Blaze’s family guards such a thing)
-Ties to mystical item that allows travel between worlds

Ok, Sargesprinkles stopped trolling at least, let’s not bring that up again…

I must add, that’s the guy who wrote the famous “Cupcakes” fanfic. (So I guess that explains his odd behavior.)

Huh, that’s interesting. I heard about several of the scrapped stories, (including a few featuring characters from the cult-classic Sonic SatA.M. cartoon) but I didn’t know about the 6 shadow creatures.

I’m guessing the “deadly six” are going to be some kinda troupe of bosses, like the 7 Koopalings. Admittedly, I like how they don’t look like “typical Sonic characters.” I just hope they’re legit villains, rather then just “misguided” like Silver, Shadow, or something.

@GargantuanBass
I like SM64, but I was beginning to think I was the only one who felt that way. (Heck, I think the original NES SMB holds up better, but that may just be the “nostalgia” talking.)
The 3D areas seem very tiny to me compared to games nowadays, the games didn’t have enough platforming on some parts, the wall-jump was hard to pull off, and not very useful, and once you’ve gotten all 120 stars several times, the game kinda gets old.
Plus I felt the games after it, (Super Mario Sunshine, Mario Galaxy 1 & 2, and such) were better, and improved the formula.
Still, riding shells over lava, some of the more “platforming” levels, and throwing Bowser was fun.

agreed Beau also did you heard that in the early 90s when sonic xtreme was in development they had aton of scrapped stories for it one of them had a story of dr robotnik breaking the master emerald that unleashes 6 shadow monsters,so i think sega must’ve taken those notes and put them in sonic lost worlds except the deadly six in the new sonic game aren’t shadow’s.

Ok, guys let’s just ignore Sarge, and focus on what’s important here.
This game looks cool, I don’t care what anyone says, and it is almost like a spiritual successor to the cancelled “Sonic X-Treme” Sega Saturn game. (But without the weird fishbowl lens viewpoint.)

It also kinda reminds me of “Sonic CD.”
