I can see what you mean. It’s a lot cheaper and easier to just reuse an asset. It defiantly fits with Hasbro wanting to cut the budget and do things as cheaply as possible.
Rember the episode where Pipp accidentally deages her friends, more that likely the creators have just been reusing that model. In universe it could be explained that sunny is reliving her past because she got sucked into the scrapbook
I can’t for the life of me understand what you consider “childish” about it.
I mean sure you “could” explain it away that way, and honestly I don’t see it as a bad explanation. It’s just I highly doubt TYT is going to do this, and it just more comes off as a retcon to make the mother figure fit. I only wish MYM did this kind of stuff. Alas… it but a bygone thing. I just cannot stomach the overly childish theme of TYT. If you like it then more power for you.
