I have never understood why G5 sets all the protagonists as orphans or single parent families, even if they don’t want to spend more money on new voiceovers. It’s not impossible to explain the situation of the parents in the episode. I feel like this setting is a bit of a hell joke for MLP😢

Yeah sadly… TYT is just gonna muddle the stuff because of its structure. Or lack there of. The latest episode is clear that this is an apparent retcon. Like sunny having her mane stripes when we know that is not true because she didn’t get them until after the movie. Then again TYT is being targeted at little kids so its is what it is. Personally I couldn’t stand just how overly childish it is.

Probably because TYT is in no real way connected to the (actual main series) MYM and as per usual they are just making shit up as they go. It’s not like there is any real connectivity in these shorts anyway. Also since its made for little kids its not like they are going to remember it after a week or so.

They did not give her a name, Jet?
It seems they wanted to confirm that Sunny’s mother has been dead for years and that Sunny was raised by her father.
