It actually was intentional. From what I can remember, someone from the production team said they looked weird or they were not working properly. It was on an EQD article but I can’t find it. Narratively speaking, we don’t have a real answer for that.

I remember seeing a few people who pointed that out when the movie dropped the first trailers and were questioning it. I think it was because G5 wasn’t consistent when it came to cutie marks. One can question how cutie marks can still be earned even when magic was gone for who knows how long.

Though it does annoy me that Hasbro decided to have G5 ponies’ cutie marks be the same when on their left side as they are on their right side, as opposed to mirrored on each side like it was in G4. This was definitely intentional rather than a mistake, because this is clearly the same pose of Pipp as the one below, but they changed the direction of her cutie mark:
