Fair enough, you can wait for that chunky brown log to emerge from Hasbro’s anus and sloppily drape over your face before you decide whether or not it’s shit, but I’m moving out of the way.
also, ‘manchild’? really? I’m a manchild for NOT liking something this toy factory is doing for once?
@Background Pony
If you’ve seen it for yourself and know that it’s bad, why the hell have you not told somebody like EqD so that everybody would know?
Unless you and your worthless brethren from /mlp/ con provide objective evidence that it sucks, go back to the circlejerk you spawned from and take your “Hasbro is the Anti-Christ” garbage with you, you spoiled manchild.
@Voltaire
“How do you know it’s shit? it isn’t even out yet!”
Said Hasbro as it squatted over your head, a large brown log slowly emerging from their sphincter.
@Wizzlbang
It isn’t even out yet and we’ve only seen a small glimpse of it. How can anyone say it’s terrible or even good. Most of the complaints I’ve seen were mostly speculated and jumping on a conclusion just by seeing a small clip that was released just yesterday .
We don’t know if this will be a generic high school drama piece of crap or it will actually turn out to be well written and enjoyable. Hell it could be like one of the episodes you mentioned, old trope but offers new, refreshing twists. Point is, not enough info has been released by that one trailer, other than the bare bones plot of the movie, that we can reach a definite conclusion to EG’s quality.
@ExtremeLurkerHomeEdition
A forced Sleepover that only Twilight really wanted to happen because she ACKNOWLEDGED “That’s what girls do!”, Rarity being Jealous of Fluttershy’s popularity of actually being a model, with photoshoots and advertisments and such, not fake high school popularity of “omg shes wearing that skirt sooo treandy”, Twilight Sparkle being behind on her magic homework which her teacher doesn’t care if it meets a certain deadline.
Old tropes, yes, but the show presented them in new and interesting ways that were still both fun and relateable. Yes the animation looks nice and Twilight eating without her hands was cute, But despite the animators and writers best efforts, they can’t mask how forced and fake this all feels, and I pray that this movie is not popular enough for an actual spinoff series to take root.
And they turned Spike into a Dog. That is unforgivable, in my book. You can go ahead and ride the McCarthy train into oblivion, but I’m disregarding this stinkburger entirely.
name a Rarity episode that from the synopsis alone, doesn’t sound out of place in Strawberry Shortcake.
Odd think is that is why I like to poke fun at Rarity, if you don’t really look she seems like the same old thing fashion girl you see in a large number of girls shows, but she’s not.

MY LITTLE BRONY: FANDOM IS OVERREACTION
Think about what pony!ponies has done with cliche plots. One of my favorite episodes in Season 1 is a goddamn sleepover. They’ve had Rarity being jealous of Fluttershy’s popularity, Twilight Sparkle being behind in her homework, and like my previous comment said, an episode allegedly devoted to just a wedding. All of those plots worked out fine. In fact, name a Rarity episode that from the synopsis alone, doesn’t sound out of place in Strawberry Shortcake.
We already know the style is the same (they didn’t pick another team to make it look more “MonsterHighSchool”er) so we at least expect some action.
My guess is that the “Brad” guy manages to make Twilight to fall in love with him, but then it’s revealed that he was the one who stole the Mc.Guffin, becoming the true bad guy in the film.
@MagnificentTrixie
And we haven’t seen it yet. Remember how Season 2 finale was hyped up to be just a wedding? And that was arguably the most action-oriented episode. For all we know the first two minutes of Equestria Girls is high school and the rest is pony Celestia murdering terrorists.
It doesn’t matter how good the animation is, or whatever. Fact of the matter is, you still just took the pony out of MLP and turned it into a high school drama.
