@Arrkhal
And if they don’t want him to talk to the girls at least make Twilight be the only one to understand him since they’re both from the same world.
If Spike is a dog here because he’s a different species if Gilda ever shows up she better be a parrot and what the hell would Discord be? For some reason I wanna say he would be a platypus.
Anyway, I meant more like a Scooby Doo or Garfield type character. A cartoon dog that thinks and talks, yet is still treated like a dog rather than a human character.
If Spike the Dog in EG doesn’t talk or anything, then yeah, okay, that’s fucked up. He better talk.
@Arrkhal
Well yeah, but remember, she took him to a pony doctor first. She took him to the vet, when the doctor couldn’t do anything, so suggested it to her.
@Arrkhal
Really, he’s treated like a dog on the show?
He barks, twilight puts him on a leash, takes him to the vet, and talks down to him like an inferior? I think we’re both watching a different show there bro.
@Background Pony
It’s a sad fact that Spike is treated more harshly than any of the Manes would treat a child or a pet.
Not out of line for an adult, though.
@Arrkhal
Which actually seemes an indication of maturity, when you put it like that. Twilight is not a parent figure, being an older sister when she isn’t treating him like hired help, and Spike has finished whatever mandatory education exists in Equestria.
@candrew
So are dogs, for the most part. Would you rather trust three 8-year-old girls to guard your house, or a well-behaved and loyal dog (not to mention talking and fire-breathing)?
Spike kind of is treated more like a dog than a person, in the regular show.
