So my redesign for her is much more simplified than my last version of it. Seeing as I’m going to need to keep it simple for me to draw her over and over again lol

I honestly have a much larger headcanon for Twilight that I’ll get into a little later, but the jist of it is along the lines of her never truly being destined to be Celestia’s pupal. I know! Criminal take. However, when Rainbow Dash performed the first sonic rainboom the surge of magic that sparked the Main Six’s simultaneous cutie marks was the same magic that gave Twi the umph she needed to hatch Spike and really get her story started.

Twilight was always studious, she was always interested in magic. My take just involves her developing that in a different sense.

The other minor headcanon I have for Twi are relatively funnier. I imagine Twilight has a rather large back tattoo. One that’s nerdy of course, but one that stems from a joke she and Rainbow had about getting a tattoo in the first place.

You see, ponies and other furry creatures can’t get a normal tattoo like you or I. They instead have to get brands done to have that same permanent design on their bodies. Rainbow, being the type of tough guy she claims to be, of course, claims that once she has the money she’d be getting her very own brand. Twilight lectures her about the idea and how permanent they are, Rainbow rebuts and dares her to get her own, Twilight scoffs but starts thinking about it more and more. She then goes ahead and gets it done. Rainbow never gets hers done lol

LMAO yea! Honestly love doing little world building for the Six outside what we see on screen.

I just think that having Twi and Rainbow having more interactions would be fun. Something akin to the Running of the Leaves episode where she “bested” her and AJ out of the blue

And having her be one of the only ones of the Six have the guts to get a brand was just too funny to pass up lol

Honestly strayed away from the initial design I had in the prologue of my comic cause I thought it was a bit cluttered, at least for the idea I had at the time. But I love your ideas for your future character designs!

Love the idea of freeze branded tattoos on pony fur, that’s a really cool idea. (I’m totally adding it to my head cannon) Also, I like that Twi is the one to have had it done, book horse is secretly hardcore I guess XD

Oh no, nothing like that.

The idea of magical scarring on an overused horn or what you had on RD’s wingtips from Sonic Rainbooms. My take probably wouldn’t be as pretty though. Freckles on the body/back (I see now you have star constellations, I wouldn’t go that far, but I see them speckled on your other pics of Twilight.) It’s making me consider glitter “stains” on Izzy.

Cloudy-like freckles, too (I’d probably be more spread and airy, but I like the idea on a few characters).

I also really love your leg thigh designs! They just look “right”. I know everyone draws the belly curving into the leg because real horses have a plump midsection, but on the ponies derived from the show that can’t be right because then the thigh would ram the stomach. Some of the points/angles in the joints are really cool also.
