The art was drawn as an expanse of thought on the theme of “Another World”, where if Princess Luna had overthrown her sister. The character’s appearance is inspired by the poster for the game Red Alert, featuring the Soviet cyborg, Volkov.
The character by the tree is more interesting. It’s not supposed to be an anthro, but at the cost of an exoskeleton that is hidden by clothing, this evil pony appears to be upright. I don’t want to hear any more about this job, very long and complicated, especially when it comes to completely redrawing the foreground.
