I do really like that all the pony characters look different too. Also Lauren Fausts reasoning for "overworking" the animators seems silly. I mean after awhile they build up an asset library anyway to pull from which would shorten animating time since you already have a huge pool of resources to pull from. It's their job after all... I know what I am hoping for a is longshot, but I really wished they continued with MYM. The characters just looked so much better. Especially Pipp and her fluffy feathers over Zipp and her streamlined and aerodynamic appearance. You simply cannot get that look in TYT. Even their hooves and bodies lose that "fluffy and furry" look. And lets not even get into the ears... My gotd ANG and MYM's ear's are just super adorable.
