Here’s why that’s a bad idea. It makes people feel good going forward but completely ignores the decade of isolation and neglect that has already occurred. And now that Misty is old enough to live her own life it throws responsibility back on her to stay away from her new friends and do what her ‘mother’ wants. But mostly it continues the idea that saying sorry compels forgiveness and everyone deserves a second chance. They do not. You get one chance to not do evil things.
