excellent point there, however in my opinion, the term medallion sounds more intriguing then just pendent, makes one more mysterious then it usually seems, like the one in the first Indiana jones movie, that obviously had mysteries of it already.

apparently not, cause as Xinaf said, the necklace is a type of jewelry worn around a neck, where as a medallion is a __metal__ piece that's hooked ON a necklace
