Well this I understood. But I just think about maybe in their headcanon\redesign Rarity is pureblood and her medieval-like exterior would be explained by this…but probably it was jast random idea, why not

it’s inspired by the medieval unicorn depiction, perhaps they are inspired by goat traits and female goats have beards as well
