Gaslighting involves twisting or manipulating the emotions of someone into believing something contrary to reality, specifically so that the victim doubts the way they recall them and believes the manipulator.
A common result of this emotional abuse leads a person to believe they might be going insane or to doubt their own thoughts, crippling their self-esteem and dependency on the aubser.

Examples of definitions:

Newport Institute

Gaslighting is a form of psychological manipulation in which the abuser attempts to sow self-doubt and confusion in their victim’s mind. Typically, gaslighters are seeking to gain power and control over the other person, by distorting reality and forcing them to question their own judgment and intuition.

Psychology Today

Gaslighting is an insidious form of manipulation and psychological control. Victims of gaslighting are deliberately and systematically fed false information that leads them to question what they know to be true, often about themselves. They may end up doubting their memory, their perception, and even their sanity. Over time, a gaslighter’s manipulations can grow more complex and potent, making it increasingly difficult for the victim to see the truth.

Very Well Mind states in gaslighting, the emotional abuser lies to the victims, exhibit narcissistic traits, discredits the victim in denying what the abused might say about an event or their intentions, minimizes the victim’s thoughts and feelings, shifts blame from themselves onto the abused, they deny wrongdoing, use compassionate words as a weapon (i.e. negging: I love you because I took you in and no one else will because you’re unwanted), and rewriting events to suite the abuser.

So the end result relates to your examples of memory or how things occurred.

I believe this is that term I learned called “gaslighting”.

The text needs to be a brighter color, it’s kinda hard to read. I think if it were that brighter purple solid it would be fine without the white streak or black with an outline.
