Friends need to learn about each other for better or worse, Izzy actually did them all a favor by arguing on behalf of Discord about magic, while Sunny is torn by her fear of the loss of her life’s highest goal, the return of magic and concerns for her friends’ opinions - she becomes angry, perceptive and focused (Twilight…). Sunny hadn’t understood that friendship is something that needs to be worked on, and that she needs to recognize that her ideas about magic aren’t always right. Twilight also had to go through the same path early in G4. They will find each other in #10 - an understanding and recognition of each other’s fears and opinions.

And Discord keeps them under surveillance. He waits for them, though Fluttershy’s message might be a surprise to him.
