Starswirl Academy fanart YAY!!

Apparently this is Lyra Heartstrings, but since everybody in the game is going through a name change, i’ll call her Lyrica instead. Not so original but it’s the best thing I came up with after 3 seconds of thinking. Also while looking it up, Lyrica is also the name of some kind of drug used to control seizures. Huh.

So, I came up with a personality for Lyrica too. I made her the pony obsessed locker neighbour of Tom after he first transfers in. She is currently temporary captain of SA’s handball team, plays a lyre and some guitar in the SA orchestra, also occasionally along with two other bands and an ensemble, and is a member of SA’s judging committee.
Despite her aloft, brash, eccentric and rather blunt personality with tendency to over or underreact in wrong situations, she is actually extremely keen in analysing situations around her and can be very cunning if she wants to; a trait she does not care to show often. She’s quite the gossiper and has an extensive knowledge of the newest and ongoing happenings in school, which she often (usual with pony analogy and her bluntly sprouted personal commentary) shares with Tom.
Very often, Lyrica can be seen snuggling her unicorn pony plushie look-alike she purchased off the internet, and even keeps her cell phone and some spare change in an out-of-place hole on it’s behind. …
Though she is a generally nice person, sometimes the seemingly lack of empathy in her blatantly stated comments tend to keep others away. Some of those who understand her good intentions under her mask of insensitivity however, are her childhood friend Bonnibelle(Bon-bon), best friend Chrysta(Carrot Top) and Dixie(Ditzy/Derpy). That and various members of her various clubs that admire her talents.

I picked Bonnibelle for Bon-bon because her other name, Sweetiedrops, is similar to Sweetiebelle. So I mashed the two names together for the heck of it.
For Carrot Top, her official name is Golden Harvest, and Chrysta may be derived from the Greek word for gold.

of course the real names in SA could be revealed differently, crushing my hopes and dreams, but i’ll see how it goes :)

L: “Hey Bon-bon!! I think I know what your student flair means!”
B: “The wrapped candy? Isn’t it because I have a flair for candy confectionary at the cooking club?”
L: “That and more silly filly! It means you’re tasteless and uneatable on the outside, sweet and enjoyable on the inside!”
B: “… … … Thanks Lyrica, I guess.”

There’s a reason why I think Lyra is best pony.

Sigh, if only I made it in time to submit a draft for the writing team of Starswirl Academy… well, there’s always headcannon.
