I meant not a big size gain. Just enough to make the feral bug feel discomfort of wearing lesser footwear. So it may make him get rid of them. But the wild running in woods mini-giant barefoot prince is scare and pretty cute idea.

Growing in size would be interesting. I imagine Thorax is pretty tall normally (around 2.3m in height, maybe a bit more). So if he transforms and gains even more, he would be like a mini-giant, with equally large foots of course~

What if he has some kind of werewolf thing, which makes him sometimes feral (like in the Halloween)? And being in such conditions he gets rid of his footwear (possibly because of raised size of his feet during that small transformation) And Thorax walks angry and barefoot around some small settlements every Halloween time…
