Description

Nearly every parent has been in this very situation before and Shining Armor is no exception. As she still adjusts to transitioning out of diapers, Flurry Heart is being potty trained by her father and is learning by watching him.

I think there are several differences between moms and dads with many aspects of parenting. Generally from what I’ve seen, parenting lessons can be summed up as dads being visual with moms being verbal. As for potty training, I’ve also heard that it should generally be done with the parent that’s the same sex as the child as boys and girls obviously go to the bathroom differently. While Cadance would arguably be better suited to potty train Flurry Heart, Shining could still do the job as long as he only sits down if he’s going to teach by example. If Shining were to have a son, he’d be the one better suited to potty train him since he could also show him how to pee standing up.

@Background Pony #1C8C Well, we can’t overlook Cadence’s contributions to Flurry’s development. I’m sure Flurry Heart wants to be like both her parents.
@Background Pony #1C8C You know, I’m actually curious about that. Is there a marked difference between moms and dads when it comes to potty training? If so, does it depend on whether their child is a boy or a girl?

He sure does - and you can tell Flurry Heart looks up to him and tries to be just like him. Maybe when she grows up, she’ll join the Royal Guards as well.

Well, this isn’t really intended on being something sexual so it’s probably not for someone like you. Male characters on the toilet tend to not be sexualized as often as female characters. Also, I imagine that when it comes to potty training, Moms are more verbally instructive whereas Dads tend to be more of a hands on(or hooves on in this case) approach.

Oh I hadn’t seen flurry heart but I still like seeing young girls in the bathroom more.
