A gentle breeze swept across the beach as four equines set down a blanket; Ocean Soul, Maverick, Gentle Star, and Lyra. All four were all smiles as they sat down on the blanket, enjoying the warm, summer day.
“Such a beautiful day…” Gentle Star smiled, looking up at the skies.
“Especially beautiful when you can share it with your friends!” Lyra giggled, laying on the blanket, looking at the others. The waves crashed gently on the shores, making Maverick and Ocean smile.
“Mavie… what’s on your mind?” Ocean Soul asked, placing a hoof on his chin. Maverick shivered.
“Just how lucky we are to be together. All of us.” Maverick smiled back, gazing into her eyes.
“Ah, you say the sweetest things…” Ocean Soul smiled, nuzzling Maverick gently.
“Only the best for the mare that is my soulmate…” Maverick smooched her nose closed their eyes, sighing.
“Aww…” Gentle Star said quietly. “Your love is so pure…”
Lyra then hugged Maverick from behind. “Mavie! Ocean! While we have time today, we should write music and tell stories!”
“Eventually, Lyra…” Maverick acknowledged the unicorn mare. “But first… we should eat.”
“Indeed… we have a long day ahead of us, and we need our energy.” Gentle Star smiled, bringing out a picnic basket filled with sandwiches and chips for the group. They then took their sandwiches, smiling at each other.
“To all of us. My closest of friends.” Ocean Soul smiled gently.
“May we all be happy together forever.” Maverick added.
“Here’s to many more memories that will last!” Lyra grinned.
