I also find it funny how Severus Snape is listed as one of the “good” slytherins because on his dying move he saved the kids. When throughout the many years as a teacher he’d been nothing but an abusive jerk who literally gave Neville trauma.

Yeah in a better planned series Harry would’ve at least made some friends at Slytherin since he had some of Slytherin traits, although he had rights to be repulsed by sheer fact that Voldemort was a Slytherin or how both Hagrid and Ron told him many evil people came from Slytherin. I don’t think he’d be on Slytherin, but the better book would’ve made him realized not all Slytherin are evil by fourth book or so, not very late in the book after there were still late examples of many Slytherin being evil.

Of course there are! Like Horace Slughorn! And yes, even Severus Snape was a good Slytherin, that was shown in the final movie. Also, Merlin was a Slytherin as well and even supported muggles.

It is easy to imagine a better version of the HP series where like, each of the protagonist is in one house to show the strengths and weaknesses of that house’s philosophy, and in that imaginary better series, Harry would have absolutely been a Slytherin himself.

The Friendship is Magic version of Harry Potter. Right down to the villain being a mirror image of the lead.

There are supposed to be good Slytherins, but you just – Don’t really see them in the books? With the exception of like. Professor Slughorn, who loves luxury and is highly ambitious but is also on the side of the good guys. Every other Slytherin you see is a. Rich b. An asshole c. Racist;
