I don’t really accept that idea that Accord can control the Elements. In context, The Elements backfired due to Accord already being “balanced” and thus changed everyone else to be under his spell. (Which is bullshit if you ask me)

Huh, I know Discord could die either when not empowered by Chaos magic or when he doesn’t cause chaos. But this? So he can actually not disappear while doing so as he switches nature? I bet lack of magic entirely would still kill him though.
Or just because Discord trusted Tirek and he didn’t expected being betrayed by Tirek (Seeing Tirek’s backstory on the IDW comics, is a pretty ironic a person who feels betrayed by all the family wants to betray someone who actually acts like a weird friend).
About Eris and Discord, Eris is really weak on comparation to Discord and i even think she don’t even have all her powers thanks to Pony of Shadows (i mean, the entire point of Nightmare Knights series is about recover Luna’s powers from Eris’ hands who wants to use it for evil which don’t make sense if Eris have her powers which barely we see at the end of the series) and Eris hates Discord like if she have envy of him like Luna was jealous of Celestia.

The entire show is about characters realizing their mistakes and owning up to them. In context of the story, I’d say this is exactly what Celestia and Luna would do

If you don’t consider the comics canon, that’s your opinion. But I do, and I’m not the only one. We can agree to disagree all day but Hasbro themselves said it’s up to the individual to decide as they see it
