Agreed. Often, backstory like that works much better when a lot of it is left to the imagination. It also makes it easier to retcon later if need be.

I ain’t against that idea.
If it were in the show, it’d have to be subtly implied or through a very quick “show but don’t tell” flashback so as to not ruin the flow.

What if, eh? I actually kind of like the whole fanon where Celestia, Luna, and Discord were all friends as youngsters, but as they got older Discord’s pranks became more and more malicious and he steadily became more and more evil until Celestia and Luna banded together and had to seal him away. It just adds way more depth to all three characters.
