So there were actual trains and buses out there that had seats that looked like somebody wanted to make disco floor-themed checkerboards? Wow, the 80s were even worse than I thought.

Yup, there sure were!

Hilariously, I’m old enough to remember my local bus company still having seats with this pattern, and that was in the mid 00’s. Though, it doesn’t really say much when this is the same company that in 2021 proudly boasted “We’ve brought our first new bus in 10 years”!
