The main comic book series may be over, but it seems that after the upcoming G1 / G4 crossover miniseries “Generations” there may be new miniseries story arcs by new artist, writers, and publishers for revisiting Friendship is Magic.

Great, if they make any major mistakes(like a good chunk of the older comics did) they’re also canon.

And considering we have a panel of Twilight basically telling someone “lol your country/homeland doesn’t matter because friendship” and what boils down to the ever so classic “it’s good when we torture or hold people in Tartarus for centuries but you need to get over your grudge!” Card.

Well for now she is the only Zebra in the comic and the show, she’s lived in a place where different creature non of it like her or even resemble a Zebra type.

Why did they do that to Spike anyway with backpedaling on one of the good things the show’s finale done for him?

Leave it to the comics to rectify the terrible decisions made by the showrunners such as:
*Having Zecora be the only zebra we see.
*Having Spike being the buttmonkey instead of one of the main characters that he is.
*Turing the Legion of Doom to stone instead of giving them a satisfying conclusion.

Also deep down we all knew she would come back in the comics because Andy “Magnificent Bastard” Prince isn’t gonna let his favorite character stay in stone for eternity.

I love that Observer Pony came back.

Which hurts since they basically undid the whole “Spike is now a Bearer too” EOTE did by excluding him from the rainbow laser in this main finale and the season 10 comics essentially pretending that detail in the show’s finale didn’t happen.
Like instead of touching on if Spike is a bearer now, they went the freaking opposite. Like now it went from “Is Spike the 7th Element now?” to “How the hell was he included in the show’s final rainbow laser if he’s apparently still not a Bearer??”

Unless they’re thinking about maybe possibly picking it back up eventually. With the fandom being what it is, one would think there’d be ample demand for G4 and G5 comics side by side - they may just not have the resources to do that with how the pandemic has screwed up the comic industry at large. We’ll see what happens.

Not anymore. These comics, unlike the previous ones, are 100% canon to the main continuity.

The season 10 comics were good, but I can’t say I’m a fan of this specifically. The show series finale was a great final sendoff to FIM, and this is just a blatant sequel hook that is most likely never going to be realized while giving unnecessary fodder to the vocal minority who have an irrational hatred for season 9 or G5. I would’ve much rather the very end of the comic been a final closing chapter so the MLP comics could move on to G5 comics without leaving any loose threads.

Interesting little detail that’s not shown in this pic:

It took Discord over 1K years to break free.
While Chrysalis only took 2 years.

Go figure.

For me, it was disappointing it did not really address any of the damages the finale had caused(while ending up undoing one of the good things the finale had done).
So the fact we had this bit AT ALL where Chrysalis is going to break out, is a freaking miracle.
