At first i thought…. Before even seeing the trailers… that twilight may became a type of… godlike creature .. to rule over equestria…
now i think.. she may be the new antagonist XD (probably wont, doubt they would have the balls to.. or even if it made sense.. but i still love it)

Yeah, I hope they will explain Twilight’s disappearance in the upcoming show. That and why the hell Elements of Harmony morphed into that 3-part crystal and how/why it got broken.
(I’m not holding my breath though - it’s an Y-rated show, so there is no need to. They left some important questions unanswered in G4, too).

Celestia and Luna were also ascended alicorns. Only Flurry was born one.
There is indeed no proof of Alicorn immortality (there is age magic, and they did go out of their way to say Discord is immortal), but to blame Celestia and Luna (or even Twilight) for something we have no proof of is pretty lame.

she would have aged as a regular pony would (few hundred years) on account of her being ascended and not a natural born alicorn. we’ve seen that to be the case with cadence.
honestly, celestia and luna probably fucked up.

I think she just passed away (I know, I know, it’s a boring explanation). I mean, alicorns are long-lived but not immortal! Friendship between the three pony species and magic probably still were a thing when she was alive.
