Here we have one of my favorite characters in the Guardianverse, the first daughter of Starlight Glimmer and Trixie Lulamoon. I changed quite a bit with her physical design but her personality and such are entirely the same. Her design just feels more complete and unique now and I really do love the way she turned out.
 
Name: Silk Illusion  
Species: Earth pony  
Special talent: Aerial silks, also known as ribbon acrobatics  
Facts: First foal actually created from Starlight’s essence combining spell. Changed her name from Sorceress Illusion when she discovered her talent.  
Occupation: Circus performer  
Positive Traits: Confident, outgoing, persistent, bubbly  
Challenging Traits: Short-tempered, holds a grudge for a long time
 
Background: Silk Illusion was the result of the first successful attempt to create offspring from magic. Starlight created with the help of many of her friends and a lot of time and effort. Due to this, Silk is very special to her mothers. While Starlight used this spell to combine her and Trixie’s essences to create a baby, they didn’t get a unicorn as they thought they would but an earth pony baby instead, they were quite shocked. It would be a lie to say they weren’t disappointed in a way, but they loved her to pieces nonetheless.
 
Before Silk was even born, her mothers had already decided on the name of their soon to come baby, Sorcerer Illusion if it was a boy and Sorceress Illusion if it was a girl. It never occurred to them that they wouldn’t have a unicorn and when their earth pony baby was born they gave her the name they had already decided on even though it didn’t truly suit her. Going by the name Sorceress as a filly caused her to receive endless teasing and bullying, she couldn’t preform any magical feats so why should she be considered a Sorceress? She finally cast off the name once she discovered her love of aerial silk. This made her mothers finally accept her as not only an earth pony but also as her true self.
 
Having a first hoof understanding of how cruel the world could be to those who were different or didn’t quite fit in, she decided to make friends with anyone who would accept her friendship and especially those who truly needed a friend. She’s overly confident, much like her mother Trixie, but she usually has the skills to back it up. She enjoys bringing joy and wonderment to other ponies with her acrobatic skills.
