If you disagree with someone’s headcanon, that’s fine. If said headcanon being represented in an image ruins said image for you, then that’s also fine. But the appropriate response is to hide the image or to filter some tags, not to act like a spoiled child and vandalize the tags by removing them all.

I think the main logic was to make her contrast Twilight Sparkle’s color, as well as the whole “dawn of a bright new future” kind of idea. Twilight is largely night-themed in her name, her cool colors, her star-type cutie mark, so the goal with Luster Dawn was probably to make her day-themed with a name that basically means “bright new day”, a rising sun cutie mark, and warm colors :D
 
Also too, like Wayneponeth said, it’s actually not common in the series that parents and children share colors and even rarer for the child to have a mix of the parent’s colors. Even Rainbow Dash, who resembles her parents more than pretty much any other character, isn’t just a mix of their colors. The only times they seem to have had a child outright inherit the colors of their parent was with Sunburst’s mom and Trixie’s knockout of a father, and I think the reason for that was because we’ve never seen the other parent in the show. Like, nobody would assume Twilight’s, Rarity and Sweetie Belle’s, Fluttershy’s, Pinkie Pie’s, or Scootaloo’s parents were related to them if they were just background characters with no context :D

Pony offsprings never need to have the same coat and mane/tail colors as their parents. Pound Cake and Pumpkin Cake both are cream color when their parents are blue and yellow. Pumpkin is slightly yellow maybe but she has no trait from her mother. I never get why people insist pony colors follow genetics when the show proves the opposite.
 
Badum wants Luster to relate to Trixie because he doesn’t like Starlight and that’s fine. Personally I don’t think Luster is even related to anyone we know. She could always be the kid of two random ponies we don’t know at all and I don’t think there’s any problem with that. Stop questioning Badumsquish’s headcanon and laugh at funny ponified meme.

By that same logic she could be Twilight’s daughter. Or Pinkie’s. Pony genetics are very strange, half the time they look like their parents and the other half they look completely different. Twilight and Pinkie are both examples of children not taking after their family.
