Essentially maturity helps us understand age doesn’t really mean anything. Everyone will have something they excel at and as we grow older the idea of family becomes more and more important than “who’s in control here” mentality. It’s a good thing because in this harsh reality of life, we need more togetherness than trying tear each other apart. :)
Any age gap becomes smaller relatively speaking.
5 years difference with 9 and 4 for example the siblings live in completely different worlds where the 9 year old may as well be a super hero in the eyes of the younger sibling. But 35 and 40 is pretty much the same in terms of where someone is in their life as well as wisdom and experience.
It’s strange how the dynamic changes as we grow older. I think at some point, my brother and I kinda ‘forgot’ who’s really older, and just remember that we’re brothers. :)
