Oh, now that really is surprising. I thought it was the other way around. Guess that means they improved the designs of the TV series versus the movies. Then again, I should have guessed that the designs on the left were for the movies since I did watch Rainbow Rocks.  
Regardless, my point still stands. I immensely prefer the designs on the left for all of the reasons I already mentioned (better designs, more variety, more detail). Though I will add this: the fact that the designs on the left were for the movies was probably one of the biggest reasons I hated EqG in the beginning: the huge boots they are wearing, combined with the skirts and shirts, just doesn’t look good at all. I am glad that the TV show actually improved things in that regard. Definitely gives me a reason to actually watch it myself.

You are changing words here because the film designs are the ones from the left (the less detailed) and the series designs are on the right (which are more detailed).

Honestly, I prefer the outfit designs of the movies to the TV series. I think all of the clothes look a lot more detailed in the films and they fit their personalities better. Not only that, but the variety is just so much better in the films, with all of the TV show characters just wearing variations of the same short skirt/T-shirt outfit. In other words, it is like the costume designers took a vacation when the TV series was made compared to when the first films came out.
