Even if my song doesn’t reach to anyone, I will continue to sing.

I don’t think I ever mentioned that Lyra is a my favourite bg character. I have some headcannons for her (a build-up from this and this):

Unlike majority of Canterlot folk, Lyra was more close to the common class, so she didn’t grew up wealthy. She has, however, incredible magic powers, and her parents barely saved enough money to take her to Celestia’s school.
She was able to befriend Twilight and the others because, while they were more wealthy than her, they were more down-to-earth compared to the other students and don’t take class dynamics very seriously.
With her talent of music, Lyra dreams of being a famous musician, but due to her class, she is often shunned by her more wealthy peers. After she graduated from the School of Performing Arts, she decided to move somewhere more rural in hopes of having a fresh start (Ponyville).
To most people’s surprise, she can sing very well and is able to tune by ear; she can be able to play and sing a song well just by listening to it once.
Whenever she sees Twilight with her new friends (the Mane 6), she always think of what would’ve happened if she reached out to her sooner.
