Yeah. and oftentimes adaptations/remakes/sequels occasionally become more familiar to people then the original work.
Like the 1987-1996 cartoon version of TMNT is considered the "original" TMNT for many people, but the B&W original Mirage Studios comics from 1984 are the actual originals. Also, many mistakenly think the "Punch-Out" game series started on the NES with "Mike Tyson's Punch-Out," (leading to some hating the later rerelease versions excluding Mike, due to the license expiring) but it actually started with 2 arcade games before, (and a third spinoff with "Arm Wrestling," seeing as it had one of the characters in it) and neither had Mike Tyson in 'em.
In fact, those 2 arcade games finally got an official rerelease via the Nintendo Eshop, and "Arcade Archives" line-up.
