I thought the opposite. What I’ve seen of the 50s version was great while the book was mostly just “eh” that felt it had a tacked on message, or at least from what I remember.
Who is fried by the heat-ray shortly after.
Not that both of the movies sucked, I just think the book was amazing, while the movies were all right.
I have to agree. None of the movies were very good in my opinion.
