I fully agree,this situation was just lead by mad emotions, there was no rational thinking possible in that fart brains of the princesses. Errore.  
This was execution at its finest, there is no good word to leave at “heroes”, they are not even better than the villains.

That’s a major problem with this ending. It made the “heroes” come across as vindictive as the villains they were supposedly better than.

I think when Twilight and the others landed after the rainbow blast, that was the villains’ last chance to surrender. But of course, Chrysalis went on her rant and we know what that got her and the others.
 
The Princesses knew what Discord was like. I don’t know why they ever listened to him, unless they were angry enough to take any easy form of revenge they were offered.

I wonder if that was what Twilight was thinking in this moment. After the 3 were defeated, and their powers drained, if Chrysalis didn’t shout out, and if the princesses didn’t listen to Discord, the ending could’ve turned out very different, even from this point.  
(But if she did want to show them the light, why didn’t she speak out against Discord and the princesses? Just baffling…)

I wouldn’t call Twilight a Mary Sue, but I hate the pedestal they put her on in later seasons.  
You acted horrible to your friends and adversaries in the last two seasons, and especially in the movie. Yet the show wants to paint you as a perfect saint that even the Tree of Harmony takes the form of? Fuck off.

At first I thought Twilight was trying to convince the villains to change thier ways or “find the light”, as she put it. But later I got to thinking maybe she had already conceded that they were unwilling to change, and wanted to at least make them realize they could never win.
