Plot twist: Casting magic just uses stored energy from your body and from food. Twi was a magical prodigy because she was a big eater. If something were to prevent her from using magic for more than a few days, she’d pack on the pounds very quickly.
And Pony Life is an alternate timeline where Twi doesn’t use as much magic, so she gains weight more easily.
How the hell does she stay thin?! Pony Life = Realistic.
