It looks more like the goo pony themselves will actually swap genders with whoever they envelop. If they are ‘male’ and they target a mare, they will leave ‘female’ and the mare will be a stallion.
 
My guess is that targeting someone of the same gender as they are would do nothing.

Whatever soft and wet touches, it ‘steals’ something from it. I like this character, there is no limit to the shenanigans

I’m kinda hoping Fluid might double down, steal those assets anyway and leave behind an androgynous non-binary. Keep stacking that chain further and further, until finally it’s dropped all at once on a lucky pony~

Hah, this is an awesome concept. I also just noticed that the goo pony “stole” Shining’s gender, rather than just morphing him, which is a neat touch.
 
I’ll second others about wanting to see more of this character. I wonder what it/they would do if they goo’d a mare while already in mare form?
