Description
This is the digital piece I started and finished during last night’s Picarto Picarto Icon stream. With recent news of the discovery of the Asian giant hornet (Vespa mandarinia) also known as the Murder Hornet in the Pacific Northwest.Link I wish we had Fluttershy around to help deal with them.
This piece was done in Clip Studio Paint. Overall the piece took about 3 hours to do.

Fluttershy to the rescue.
They are responsible for some human deaths though (50 a year in Japan, IIRC). Just in case them being hell-bent on killing all our bees wasn’t bad enough.
No way, man, I’ve seen that episode of Sliders.
Yep, you’re right about that. The bees in the US and in Europe can’t hold off the hornets in the same way their Japanese cousins can. So due to that it is crucial that any hives in the US and in Europe are quickly destroyed so that the pest doesn’t spread and harm the native bee populations
Japanese honeybees have a defense mechanism to fight back: when a hornet breach their hive, they swarm it in a compact ball and vibrate their wings to raise the temperature and CO2 level inside, thus smothering the nasty bugger to death.
Sadly, their Europeans cousins aren’t so well prepared against that invasive species.

Most likely to stay away from her honeybees. The reason that insect is known as a ‘murder hornet’ isn’t because it massacres humans, but rather it massacres honeybees. If it finds a hive, it will kill every bee inside (which is detrimental to humans since most of our food is pollinated by bees)
