Phew! I worked so much on this comic I actually grew up to kinda hating doing so, but finally, here it is. I could consider this my personal “Magnum Opus”, at least for pony comics that is. At 35 panels, it is my longest one-shot comic strip yet, being rivaled by my other long comics, Discord’s Song and End Times, (you can find them here: 1 2 ) but this one takes the cake.
This is a comic I had planed for a long time, as in years. I wanted to make it when season 4 was airing and leave it scheduled to post after the show was over, but I desisted from it because I knew there would be changes in the show that would make the comic to not have much sense. And boy did things changed! First the new castle, then the school, Twi becoming a queen, etc. So, in hindsight, it was the right decision to make the comic after the series ended. But then… I had no time to do this gigantic comic, so, in short, I made it because I have a lot of free time now that I’m in quarantine because of the Covid-19 virus like the rest of the world. I think I felt that I worked too hard on this because I did it EXACTLY as I imagined so long ago.
Anyway, what we have here is basically Twilight saying goodbye to everybody now that her story has ended, she has moved on, but I don’t know if I had, haha. A bit abstract, the script is largely based on “Volver a Comenzar” by Café Tacvba, which is, in my opinion, the greatest song about moving on and letting go everything you have ever done in your life. In a way, this is also a bit about me as an artist and how I’m slowly moving on from doing pony art… I guess.
I think I should have listened to the user who told me to do a small comic…

@Lunaria
Two words: age magic.
less “fanon” more context clues that the alicorns out live nearly all normal ponies and if twilight didn’t straight up look like how celestia, luna and cadence did maybe we could assume other wise but it’s obvious that her aging is defiantly no longer the same as a normal pony.
It’s pretty much canon that Celestia is over a 1000 years old. Twilight is obviously taking after her. The girls are not exactly sprouting extra appendages but getting grey hairs. I think it’s pretty much a good bet Twilight will outlive her friends. And I think that’s what kills a lot of people.
Except that this part is made up by bronies and doesn’t hold much water. You guys are letting a god/immortal fanon get to you when it’s just that—a fanon.
Agreed. Pretty much ‘well the girls are getting old, Twilight will outlive everyone and look! Twilight Sparkle replacement everyone!’
