argh…… maybe we can think, that light is just energy flowing out force field and it can't fully converted or used same like modern machine/engines.


 
and some fictional head canon, the mana(magicka/Qi) always circulate in the body, so that enough to resistance none dangerously forcused magics(weak spell) trigger the energy flows much faster and strong thean other way.
