I think it’d actually be interesting for twilight to have an episode where she has an identity crisis due to her new look.

11 years ago, I had a metal rod inserted into my ribcage to prevent my heart from being crushed while I healed. It was nothing much, just a fraction of a centimeter in diameter.
 
There are times when I am trying to sleep and I roll over on my side, or times when I’m giving someone a hug; that I find myself struck with the uncomfortable sensation that something is out of place, that its not the way I’m supposed to feel. A feeling similar to needing to stretch my legs, but not being able. No matter how I twist, push or contort myself, relief is just out of reach.
 
You might not think getting a new pair of wings could possibly be a bad thing, and thats fine, but don’t ridicule people who have concerns of their own.

Twilight casually paced through Ponyville, having taken off her royal attire to give her hooves and head a breather. She swore, that crown was so tight it was cutting off the circulation to her brain. It would explain why it’d been so hard to think as of late.
 
Her wings occasionally twitched a little in an effort to keep her balance. A brilliant gift from Celestia… but surprisingly, the only things that came packaged with her new limbs were three inches in height and longer hair. She couldn’t detect any sort of immediate difference in her abilities, and her first attempt at flight had led to pain and a horn-shaped hole in the wall.
 
As she trotted, she noticed that the ponies were acting… strange. Instead of smiling happily at her in lighthearted greeting, they were either ignoring her, staring at her with shadows on their faces, or just outright glaring. She frowned. What was with everypony?
 
She approached a nearby group, who were casually chatting about produce and not paying her any mind. “So I heard tomatoes have risen in price from one bit to two bits,” one of them commented. “I wonder what’s up with that.”
 
“I concur. According to a farmer friend of mine, there have been no major changes in supply or demand in the tomato market,” Twilight added, approaching them. Immediately, all three ponies stared at her, dropping their smiles.
 
One of them narrowed her eyes. “You’re riiiight. But, we’re gonna go.” With that, they turned and walked away. Twilight felt a small blade of ice jut into her heart, and she frowned again.
 
“Freakin’ alicorns. If they’re so much better than us, they should stay in their castle instead of coming down here to…” As their voices faded, the knife in Twilight’s heart twisted painfully.
 
Twilight then decided that a stroll through town wouldn’t be as relaxing as she thought, and drearily trudged back to her library with a lowered head. Maybe Spike could cheer her up.

It will never happen in-series, but all of her friends are going to die long before she does.

Sounds like a reactionary fanfic written by a delusional.

That dress really does clash badly with her coat. Rarity would throw a fit… unless she’s the one who made it, in which case the only remaining Unicorn in the main cast might need a new pair of glasses.
 
I get the feeling Twi won’t be broken up about “ascending” à la the most cliché fanfics.
