I don’t know how to explain the concept of easily-followed timelines to you other than to point out that yelling about racist images -> yelling about people getting mad about racist images -> making fun of yelling about other people getting mad doesn’t really fit the narrative you’re trying to push. When somebody stomps into the room covered in Cheeto dust and leaving a trail of dripping hamburger grease behind them and gets pissy about other people being messy eaters, they’re gonna get laughed at.

They earned it and deserve no sympathy for it. They could keep dogwhistle argebargle comment threads from happening in the first place easily enough by simply, y’know, actually enforcing the part of Rule #0 which textually prohibits racist shit like that dumb Applejack plantation shitpost, but apparently they’d rather spend their time freezing peaches and pretending like all the racist shitheads that goosestep out of the woodwork every time garbage like that gets posted aren’t really racist shitheads unless they make a post where they stare directly at the camera and say out loud that they hate [other], and even then there are mods who’ll defend them and throw bans at anyone who complains about them. This image likely wouldn’t even have been made in the first place if if the mods around here didn’t constantly make excuses for letting this place turn into 4chan lite by allowing ignorant racist shit to get posted here.

True, we don’t truly know how or why it was made other than a gift art. Philippines was also like this in the past ( different races same situation ), and I don’t really feel offended by it. What happened hundreds of years ago shoudn’t be applicable in this day and age and be taken as seriously as it was back then. That’s just giving yourself an old problem that was already fought for and won by the old generation.

Oh the pic, as a black person myself…I was alright with it like that gave me 0 issues if someone was legitimately offended by it apologies to them, if someone was just acting because they think that pic offended someone…uh I get they had good intentions but I dunno at the high end of offensiveness JUST THE PIC was a joke that fell flat

Also I can’t fault anyone of being actively against racism. They may have been a targeted victim of it IRL. The experience will definitely create a prejudice to that race as an effect.

I personally liked AtA’s piece. It’s pretty mild compared to other more edgier ones. People’s interpretation of it made it too much of a big deal. Can’t we just appreciate good art, pretty insesitive of me but I find dark humor funny.

As someone from a 3rd world country and a somewhat conservative one, and as someone who doesn’t take the internet seriously cause it won’t technically affect IRL situations ( except communication with those you also encounter IRL ); It just perplexes me that people get too emotional about this. You’re not always on the internet, you don’t really know that person all too well in the first place ( aka constantly communicating with them ), really isn’t that much of a deal even though its a bad topic ( subjective ), and also just because you’re making racist jokes on the internet doesn’t mean you practice racism ( subjective ).
 
My group of friends share racist jokes cause its funny and isn’t supposed to be taken seriously. We don’t demonize them cause we can separate the jokes from the person. Kinda insensitive I know, but I apologize immediately if it did kinda offended someone.

I find it Pretty hard to hate a Person who develops first Hand into a racist. The former example was a small Business owner that has repeatedly been robbed by one “race”. But also a Woman being raped by one or more visually distinguish Person/People. Or a School child bullied by on type of schoolmates. They HAVE reason to be wary About that Group.

This is the Point were racism actually starts in my opinion, learn from other People. But can we blame a parent that has bad expirences to teach them to the child? What About the aunt? Or a close friend of the Family. The grandfather? The teacher. The rape victim speaking to Young Girls.  
I find myself that the further away from the first Hand experince the more we should Question the expirence. The friend of Cousin of a friend says don´t date X? Why not make your own decission. You read it in a book? Yeah, Right.

There’s a lot that goes into that, but the short answer is ‘yes’. It’s a mixture of development of society, gravitation towards perceived advancement in frames of mind, and relation toward past concepts, but the general idea is that some people out there think that racism is a false concept, despite science saying that there are biological, racial differences and those do play a role, however insignificant that effect may be in modern society. To what degree is where we get this massive disconnect. If you want to talk about it more, we should take it to a DM. I don’t want to add to how much of a dumpster fire this thread has become, more than I have with this comment.

I’m in a country where racist jokes are normal. Edgy ones are rare, but aware that it’s a joke and pretty much disregarded as just joking around.
