AFAIK no one gets to “claim” a default oc tag. If it’s not a super established oc of the notoriety of Snowdrop or Nyx or Fluffle Puff, at least.

True, I’m just glad it’s not like those pictures people do of random non-pony characters holding plushies. That is some bullshit.
Midnight Light, the bat filly, misses her tag. A custom name tag had to be made for her, because another artist claims the default name tag for her OC pony who is also called “Midnight Light” and the custom tag has only been added to Midnight Light’s picture today:

The collab rules don’t allow anthro characters so there shouldn’t be anthros in the picture. The stated reason is to try and ensure some sort of cohesion so the characters look like they’re actually inhabiting the same scene. You’ll notice there’s a whole bunch of various hybrids and original species, but nothing that stands out in the picture all that much. The official guideline is, if a character would not look out of place in the background of an episode, it’s ok.
That being said… I found at least one submission for this collab which qualifies as full anthro IMO (so not just semi anthro), but judging by the tags it was never tagged so, and the oc’s listed in this one’s tags, so Joey must have judged that it gets to be in. That picture was never tagged anthro though, so the tag probably ended up on this image by having been added to an entry by the time Joey’s bot/golem/intern/clone army was copying off the tags from the entries.
