@Damaged
yeah but you gotta keep in mind… a H U G E majority of artists put a DNP up because they are tired of really stupid edits/edits that they think makes their artwork look bad.. a spiral thing like this I would think would be different and they probably wouldn’t mind
@Rainboom Dash
I got through a handful of the artists listed, and found 5 with DNP. One of them is literally “No edits” that says nothing of permission.
@Rainboom Dash
I underestimated how much bitrate it would take… even CRF=28 x265 slow preset ended up being over 40mb from the 2160p60 source downscaled to 720p.. also only took about 6 minutes to compress, hmm
And I’m not sure tuning the psy-rd or aq-strength would help any cause it probably needs higher values (I left at default) I could try increasing the merange but 720p isn’t very high so I’m not sure how much it would help… but I’m not sure how you’d increase with VP9, it’d just be for testing with x265..
@Algebroot
Yeah, takes a few seconds for the page to load and have to scroll all the way down if you didn’t click from the notifications :/
@miky94c
it says “no edits without permission” and in detailed info says “too many people making unauthorized edits, including removing artist signature”
So probably doesn’t count adding it to a massive spiral.. but shrugs
Also, pretty sure it failed at this point.. I already reported it like 10min ago
Dude u know the edit is was not allowed of artist Charliexe and oltre check something artist is was no edit
and there more artist say : no edits… have fun…
@rebane2001
I’m using adobe media encoder
I’m not sure why it was speeding it up… the thing is it says 24 fps because it compressed into 24, but it clearly sped it up about to 29.94 if my math was correct.. even though I specified in the settings to grab 24 images a second if original frame rate is not specified…
I’ll definitely have to try apple prores and see how that works..
And I grabbed lagarith from leetcode, I think
@Rainboom Dash
That should be impossible - if the source footage is 8 bit without noticable banding, the output should be that as well
Unless you’re using a wonky encoder or converting color
@rebane2001
I used the PNG images and did RGB, caused lots of banding
I also tried YUV 4:2:2, caused lots of banding
DNxHD only caused a small amount of banding but sped it from 24 to 29.94 fps.. even though I said if no fps is specified (like image sequence) do 24.. most codecs obey but DNxHD didn’t… I don’t think I actually tried apple prores on those specific PNG images.. I’ll have to do that because it does cause less banding than lagarith for most stuff
@rebane2001
Ah, I’ve used lagarith before… caused massive banding even though it’s supposed to be LOSSLESS
But… to be fair a lot of codecs were causing massive banding on recompress.. really sucks
I’ve found apple prores (even though it’s lossy) causes much less banding on average
@rebane2001
ah
Well I know 720p60 would be easy to do.. 1080p60 is questionable
I would use the 4k stream if I were to recompress… YT gave it… wow, only about 25mbps during the high motion and an average of 20… yeah, that’s not very good… it really should have given it more but it probably saw a ton of motion and since it works on a CRF based system lowered the quality a bunch.. I know it gives far more bitrate if it thinks it’s needed but I guess the high motion made it lower it.. okay, I’m rambling on
Still not processed.. questionable if it failed or not but it really does take a long, long time so it’s possible it’s still processing.. hmm
@Rainboom Dash
This is 60fps, VP9/opus, encoded straight from a lossless AVI
Lower resolutions are better because the rapid movements bitstarve it really hard on higher resolutions
For some dumb reason I remembered the Derpi limit as 20MB instead of 25MB, but I don’t think there’s a point in reuploading - those who want to see it in it’s full glory can look at the 4k@60 version on YouTube
If this isn’t 60 fps I’m gonna have to reupload because I know 720p60 should be really easy to compress into 25mb… might even be able to squeeze in 1080p60 without a lot of compression artifacts
eh, idk.. there’s a lot of motion… Youtube’s 720p60 stream is 40mb but looks pretty compressed already… 720p60 is probably the limit
