On the first statement… yes. You got it. Those show followed a linear story from the beginning to the end, and their finale completely fucked up any good purpouse. So they will be forgotten and it will be like they never happened…. well except for Gumball. Its stories were standalone even thought there was continuity in them so even thought the finale was disappointing, the show can still be remembered with pleasure (ironically enough, the finale of Gumball sucked only as FINALE. As standalone episode thought, excluding the last scene it was actually really fun). The same could have been said about MLP if the finale would have been disappointing: it was a slice of life show and while there was continuity, the stories were standalone and enjoyable on their own, so even if the finale would have been disappointing, the show wouldn’t have been forgotten fast regardless. It all depends by the nature of the show.
