During the Golden Age he belonged to Facette Comics, was a direct (and sometimes more successful!) competitor to Superman, and the subject of drawn-out litigation between Fawcett and DC.
This series of art are depicting the Pillars as the Justice Society. Shazam, or as he was formerly known as Captain Marvel, was a member as well, like during the Golden Age.
