Well, the original 1986 movie was not based off the tv show because the tv show hadn’t been released until three months later. This movie serves as the pilot of the tv show. Just like Spider-Man 1977, Dora Explorer Girls: Our First Concert, The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar, and the upcoming G5 movie that was a Beast Era rip-off. The movie and the first two specials based off the 1982-1987 toy lines. And the two specials were set before the movie. And the movie was released in in the same year as The Transformers: The Movie which is released two months after the My Little Pony movie.

Yeah, the movie bored me, I preferred the 1987 series.

I take umbrage at this term - just because something has evolved, does not automatically make it better. Not all change is good. Biological evolution as a case in point - this is why some species end up in “evolutionary dead-ends” for instance.
 
Anyway, tl;dr, I disagree with the whole “G1 - ewww” attitude as well.
 
And on another note, I still feel Windows 95 was a good OS. Not quite as good as 98, but still good. Personally, I have chosen not to move on from Windows 7 yet, as I think it’s great and it meets all my needs, and I don’t want to go on to the latest versions with all their touch-screen optimisation for tablet users, apps that you subscribe to use rather than software that you buy at a one-off price, etc…
