She wasn’t a dick, just kinda incompetent. Keep in mind Dash knew next to nothing about cheerleading and actually TRIED to help. I blame Twilight over Dash for forcing her to do it. Honest Dash does shine near the end, but I feel like they could have made Pinkie or Twilight the cheer coach and Dash could have been the buckball coach.
 
Not as bad as everyone says it is, but not amazing either.
 
I felt like aside from Common Ground ever since the old writers retired in S5, Rainbow Dash has become the designated “jerk” of the mane six when she’s more deeper than that. It’s kind of the same problem people have the Mike Scully Simpsons episodes and what they did to Homer. I mean honestly though, Common Ground was pretty good. I’d say that kinda made up for Dashie’s misrepresentation in S9. She’s the Gym Teacher for Celestia’s sake! Why couldn’t we have seen more of THAT? Maybe get everycreature to hate Dodgeball?
 
Still… I feel like for all S9’s faults it isn’t as bad as Modern Simpsons or the SU finale.

I liked it. I’ve been tired of the Wonderbolts since S03, and I’m glad they didn’t pollute the final season with more of it.

Not to mention the new cheerleader ponies.

Yeah! The Washouts for example! That showed Dashie at her very best! That shoulda been her final episode!

Dashie has gotten shit on a lot in the last few seasons. Even more noticeable since she clearly has shown character growth and depth, just not in these few shitty episodes. How sad that they didn’t know how to write her.
